a bit about me…

I always knew I wanted to paint but it took me a while to get to where I am today. It usually begins with a feeling that I want to express onto canvas, board or paper. The material doesn’t really matter as long as I can get the colours out of my head and onto a surface. I tend to favour acrylics, they are rich in colour and can be used loosely to create a wash but also heavy and thick to create texture and intense marks.

I love the way colour makes me feel, its evokes happiness. Bright layers and texture all merging together brings me joy. I feel incredibly grateful that I get to do this for a living and even more so seeing my work hang in a gallery or on someones wall. Expression through painting helps me interpret and process the world around me, I like to think my work manifest’s positivity even in times of darkness.

My artwork has always been my sanctuary, a place where I can disconnect and find head space, blocking out the noise of the world when it gets to loud.

I often get asked to define my work into words and I’d say my art is a collection of expressions, experiences and feelings which have been translated into colour. It makes me happy and I hope that translates to you.
